About Us

Villages Health Support Organization most Commonly known as VHSO is non – profit organization licensed as an NGO in Tanzania, the main objective is to provide Social and Economic support, free diagnosis, treatment and medicines to the people of remote Villages (With the help of regional Doctors and Nurses) where there are absolutely no facilities for health care and travel to nearby towns otherwise necessary to obtain the service of Physicians. 

The Organization was Pioneered and created by Jacob Amon after long experience working with Church Project called “Christ for all Villages” with the aim of preaching the Gospel and win more souls to Christ under the Umbrella of Pentecostal Gospel Ministries International (PEGOMI),After doing that for sometime we realize most of People who live in underprivileged Community need more than a Gospel that is why we realize they need Economic Empowerment, Health support and Medical visits.

Empowering Youth and Women Economically through Farming, Entrepreneurship Skills, by arranging training on different areas; Vegetable Projects, Fruits, Chicken and Goat Project and provision of capital, Seedlings, chicken, goat  hence raising their life standards.

Eradication of FGC/FGM

VHSO together with Government Representative from Arusha District Council were able to give awareness also by using film educating Village Leaders, Church Leaders, Local Midwives hence Olchorovos Primary school student on how to Eradicate FGM At the village.This was our New experience to use Video Documentary and it has good results

It gives awareness to them that they have responsibilities to educate their fellows at the Village, Church, families on how to end FGM

Free a girl from Child marriage.

31% of girls in Tanzania are married before their 18th birthday and 5% are married before the age of 15. According to UNICEF, Tanzania has the 11th highest absolute number of child brides in the world – 779,000.According to 2010 data, child marriage rates are as high as 59% in Shinyanga, 58% in Tabora and 55% in Mara. Rates are lowest in Iringa and Dar es Salaam. In rural areas on the border with Kenya, some girls reportedly marry as young as 11.
